so, while i’ve been studying here at TAMK i’ve realized video is a really effective medium and also one that is very easy to host and distribute, i’ve started to get much more comfortable with the medium and the approach to it here is totally different than in ireland. as a result i’ve been thinking of ways to work with video that are exciting and new, and most of all i want to work outside myself because i am quiet sick of myself as subject. 

i’ve been thinking a lot about my lovers project and how i could move it into something that felt less dull somehow and work with the concept in a way that is more exciting and less predictable than photography. i feel like my presence as a photographer stopped people from being as comfortable as they could be, i felt there was a pressure to get everything just write - the text, the handwriting, the placement, the whole thing just felt a little too polished off for me and while i did like the end product i felt like there was a better way to execute the project. 

so, i had the idea that i could get a range of different people, from all over the world, and naturally the only way i could do this was online. so what i want is for people to participate, you can write it in english or you can write it in any other language you want. i want both videos and photographs. i don’t quiet know how this is going to go, i really, really hope that people will be interested and that i will get a good deal of feedback because if this worked i would be so energized by the change in direction. 

the guidelines are: 

YOU AND YOUR LOVER WRITE YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE THING ABOUT EACH OTHER ON YOUR MOST FAVOURITE PART OF EACH OTHER, DOCUMENT IT AND THEN EMAIL THE FOOTAGE/MATERIAL TO ME 

FOR VIDEO
1, highest quality of video you can access, for some this will just be a webcam but that’s okay, for now i will consider everything and anything 
2, video the whole process from start to finish, the writing on the skin and the end product 
3, if possible send  a photo of the end product too (guidelines following)
4, please include your names, the date, a translation of the text on skin if not wrote in english 

FOR PHOTO 
1, again, highest possible quality you have access too
2, if you want you can send some ‘behind the scenes’ type footage of you drawing on the skin, etc. only a suggestion and not at all necessary 
3, look to my previous lovers’ photos for the type of composition i want, the main focus should be on the writing so that it is legible and can get across the text, it should show the area it is wrote on if possible.
4, please include your names, the date, a translation of the text on skin if not wrote in english

please note, by submitting this footage to me you are giving me permission to publicly display it online and in real life in situations such as: exhibitions, college displays, etc 
you are basically surrendering the rights of the photographs/videos to me
